How to Play Paper.io 2
Claim Territory
Move in any direction to extend your trail. When you loop back to your own colored zone, the enclosed area is claimed as yours.
Protect Your Trail
While your trail is extended, crossing it eliminates you. Never move so far that you can't return to safety before other players intercept.
Eliminate Other Players
Cross another player's trail while they're outside their zone to eliminate them and absorb their territory. Time interceptions carefully.
Controls
- Move mouse or swipe to change direction. Expand your territory by completing loops back to your zone.
Tips for Success
Small loops beat large ones early. Frequent small captures are safer and accumulate territory faster than gambling on huge land grabs.
Edge territory is safer. Starting near the map edge means fewer players can approach from behind. Build your base in a corner first.
Watch trails, not players. An exposed trail is the real danger signal. Always scan for nearby trails before extending your own.
Bait larger players. Move near a bigger player's trail to make them think you're attacking — then quickly retreat. Their panicked movement can expose their own trail.
Final stretch is the most dangerous. Near the top of the leaderboard, every player becomes a target. Consolidate territory rather than risking elimination for marginal gains.
